This is the moment two thieves broke into a security business and stole two laptops.
The men were caught on footage after forcing their way into CCTV suppliers, on Newport Way, in Cannon Park, Middlesbrough .
Owner James Thompson told how the burglars even padlocked the gates so that police could not gain entry once the alarm was triggered.
“It’s unbelievable really,” said James, 27.
“Once the building’s alarm went off, a security guard came but couldn’t get in because the gates had been locked.
“To burgle a unit equipped with a padlock makes it seem as though it was all planned out.”
James, from Thornaby, told how once inside, the men climbed over the front counter and took two Apple MacBook laptops which were on the side.
“Looking at the CCTV it seems as though they were looking for cash, but they struck gold when they saw the laptops. They grabbed a Bose speaker which was also on the counter and fled out the back.”
The incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday.
A number of other units on the industrial site were also targeted, says James, who set up his business with Paul Wood around a year ago.
“They managed to prize open a roller shutter door on one of the other premises and got in a beauty suppliers,” he said.
“The window of my Mercedes car was also smashed, but there was nothing for them to take in there.
“They were in and out within five minutes, so I definitely think they were looking for cash.”
Both men were wearing balaclavas and gloves. One was wearing grey tracksuit trousers while the other was in black.
“One of the benefits of being a CCTV specialist company is that our CCTV is crystal clear,” James added.
“The footage is so clear. One of the men’s eyes are so distinctive I reckon he could be recognised straight away.
“We just hope they are caught soon, so that no one else falls victim to them.”
Cleveland Police confirmed the incident had been reported to them, and asked anyone with information to contact 101.
